Help me give my students a current selection of books to read, and magazines that will help them use critical thinking skills to apply to real world situations and improve their reading and writing skills.
Do you remember getting hooked on a series of books as a child? Think of the anticipation and excitement you felt waiting for and then finally reading the prized next installment in your favorite series. I want to instill this same love of reading to my students that I have.
This will be my first year teaching at this school but here's what I've heard about the students I will be teaching; They are book-loving, avid readers, and enthusiastic learners.
They are inquisitive, compassionate, and creative.
Many of my students will not have access to books at home and will rely on our school classroom to check out high-quality books. There is a buzz about books and an excitement for reading in our school.
My Project
These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library will be a place that my students can enjoy. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. Students will be able to choose books, which will help them continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
