Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

We are an urban school, serving students from lower income families. Many of our child are one grade level below in reading. Our students need extra interesting activities to encourage them to read. After reviewing data from the Leap Pad Company I saw that student reading performance was improved by an impressive rate. I want to engage and encourage our ESL student to read more. Having the leap Pad book in English and Spanish will help them be on an even playing field with their classmates that are English as a first language speakers. Not only will the ESL Student use the book, but their English speaking classmate will be able to use them also. It is the primary goal of our school to give excellent instruction with resources that meet the student where they are.
