My Students

My students are the most creative, genuine, unique, and caring bunch of kids I have ever come across. My children adapt to any situation- working hard to achieve whatever task is given. Some of them are artists, some are athletes, some work two jobs after school and hide their home lives without ever complaining about the situations they were born into.

My students are the reason I wake up eager, and excited to provide the knowledge my teachers passed down to me.

When the workload is too heavy, when the days are dragging, I am constantly in shock at the personalities that inspire me to go on. They deserve the world.

My Project

Many of my students have been told their entire life that reading is not important. At the beginning of this school year, I struggled to motivate them to read. Now, they are avid readers that eat the books I give them over the weekend, and return to school on Monday ravenous for more.

To me, reading has always been an escape from the world, and when I return from my exploration of text, I come back with a better understanding of humanity and life.

I want to give that experience to my students, but I am lacking some of the books that they find interesting.

For our last quarter, I am allowing my students to make use of our brand new Book Nook, and choose a personal reading book from the selection of choices provided from our last Donors Choose project. I am requesting some of the books that my students have asked for in preparation for our upcoming personal reading project.

Please help me give my students the books they so desperately want!
