Help me give my students a fun and entertaining reading series like Diary of a Wimpy Kid in Spanish. My bilingual and dual language learners will become stronger students because of your donation.
I am the School Library Media Specialist for kindergarten to fifth grade at three different elementary schools in one district. My students come from diverse backgrounds and experiences, and I want them to enter a library that represents them.
Every single student is unique, but they all have one thing in common: they deserve a school library that represents them and promotes equity for all.
In these times of challenge and change, my students are at a very impressionable crossroads. They most certainly will seek guidance from the books that their trusted educators put in their hands. That is why I am asking for your support in adding Spanish titles to our school library for my dual language and bilingual learners.
My Project
Many late elementary-aged dual language and bilingual learners become frustrated and embarrassed when choosing library books. By offering fiction and non-fiction Spanish titles, I will remove some of that angst by allowing these students to read the same popular and well-loved titles as many of their classmates.
When students see themselves reflected in the books they read, they read more.
And we all know that the more you read, the more you know, so please support my students and this endeavor to help them grow into strong students and voracious readers.
