Second-grade students need strong decoding skills in order to read on their own. The decoding kit, word match, and other items requested will help me explicitly teach these decoding skills through small group instruction and engaging reading centers. Some of the products focus on hearing the sounds in the words and others will help students to put those sounds into the letters. Other products focus on allowing students to use these decoding skills in text.
Through this project, students will be able to engage in hands-on, effective phonics activities so they can read on their own!
