My Project

Every day, my 10th-grade English students discover that books have the power to help them feel seen, challenge their thinking, and inspire meaningful conversations. This project will provide class sets of The Color of Water, Dreamland Burning, and A Raisin in the Sun so every student can actively read, annotate, and engage with these powerful stories. Highlighters, colored notebook paper, and a classroom bookshelf will support close reading, discussion, and organization throughout the year. These resources will help students strengthen their literacy skills, think critically, and develop a lifelong appreciation for reading and the power of their own voices.
