Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been a teacher for 15 years. Most of the materials in the list and furniture are meant to create my reading and writing activities and workstations, since it is going to be my first year teaching these areas.
My primary goal is to nurture a love for reading, writing, and mathematics.
I believe that a strong foundation in these areas will empower my 28 students throughout their academic journey and beyond. I want my students to feel confident expressing themselves, whether through words or numbers. By providing targeted resources, I aim to boost their self-assurance and encourage active participation. These resources will instill a passion for learning. They will also cater to various interests and reading levels. The materials that are donated will help me create cozy reading corners are scattered throughout our classroom. These inviting spaces encourage independent reading, where students can lose themselves in tales of adventure, friendship, and discovery. .
The math materials will transform abstract concepts into tangible experiences. Students explore addition, subtraction, and place value, making math come alive.
My first-grade students are truly remarkable! When they read, their minds take flight. As they write, they pour their hearts onto paper. Whether it’s a simple sentence or a detailed paragraph, their words carry emotions—joy, excitement, or even a touch of mischief. They will be word wizards. When they write, they wield words like magic spells. They experiment with synonyms, metaphors, and similes. Their vocabulary grows, and they discover the power of language.
My project aims to nurture well-rounded learners who embrace reading, writing, and math with enthusiasm. Together, we’ll unlock their potential, celebrate their progress, and create a classroom where every student shines.
