When the materials first arrived, the excitement was unforgettable—students' eyes lit up as they explored each new box, eager to touch, build, and create. Each week, every child receives a new STEM box to explore independently, and they are also encouraged to collaborate by combining materials with their classmates to create something even bigger.\r\nThe manipulatives have quickly become a favorite part of our day, especially the magnetic materials. The magnetic cubes, tiles, and blocks are by far the most loved. Students have designed everything from vacuums to clean our classroom carpet, spaceships, insects, cities, schools, and even mountains. These creations often spark rich conversations as students explain their ideas, problem-solve together, and modify their designs to make them stronger or more detailed.\r\nWe have integrated these materials into multiple thematic units, including the four seasons, structures and buildings, animal shelters, and lessons about what makes each of us unique. These resources have given students the freedom to use their imagination while also strengthening their critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Moving forward, students will continue using these STEM boxes to expand their designs, connect learning across subjects, and grow in confidence as creative thinkers. Thanks to your generosity, our Yearbook Club received picture cameras that have already made a tremendous impact on our students' creativity, collaboration, and confidence. We want to share how your gift is helping our students learn and grow through real-world, hands-on experiences.\r\n One of the most memorable moments so far has been watching our 5th graders take the cameras on their overnight camping field trip. This was the first time students had the chance to use them outside the school setting, and the memories they captured were amazing. From nature hikes and team-building to campfire moments filled with laughter, the students documented their experiences through their own perspectives. \r\n The students have also taken the lead on making sure pictures are taken during special events on campus, such as recent holiday performance. It has been amazing to see the leadership qualities our students demonstrate when they have cameras in their possession. Thank you again for your generosity and kindness.
