This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are eager learners in a Montessori classroom where they can widen and explore their interests. They have access to rich materials and books to learn from. Many students are beginning readers, making great strides in their reading this year. We were scattered to our homes and our learning materials were replaced by paper and screens.
Students struggled to participate in this electronic world.
Many could not participate at all because there is not a working computer at home, or the available computer is shared by many family members, including parents and siblings.
My Project
Please help me encourage my young students to stay engaged in their learning this summer. As young learners in first and second grades, many are emerging readers who need to read over the summer months to make critical progress in their reading skills. We lost over two months in the classroom, so engagement through the summer is more important than ever.
