This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is so important for kindergarteners to have a chance to play with toys in a clean environment. Your generous donations will help me to keep a classroom clean and disinfect all the students’ utilities. Likewise, my students will have an opportunity to play with new engaging toys and games to succeed in different areas.

I will read a book «The Good Egg» using my secret HOOK.

• We will discuss different elements of the story «The Good Egg». We will compare the emotions of the Egg to our own emotions.

GRADUAL RELEASE: I DO (MODEL)

I will model the special sample for students - a worksheet with their individual work -project.

• I will engage students by asking open-ended questions about their reading experience.

• I will make connections to their emotions and ways to calm down.

• I will model expectations for group work.

Demonstration/Modeling (10 minutes):

• I will read a book «The Good Egg».

• I will provide examples, remind the story elements.

• I will introduce the activity, demonstrating how to work with the materials and expectations.

GRADUAL RELEASE: WE DO

We will discuss the story «The Good Egg» and compare the emotions of the Egg and the students.

GRADUAL RELEASE: YOU DO (TOGETHER AND/OR ALONE)

Students will work on their own individual work with the correct sequence.

Individual work (10 - 15 minutes):

1. Students need to complete the worksheet of The Good Egg, where students need to draw, glue and paste the events of the story.

2. As a teacher I will monitor students’ independent work by observing and asking questions to check the understanding.

CLOSURE: (5 minutes)

• As an educator I will summarize key concepts and reflect on the lesson.
