My students love when I read books to them and show the pages on the smartboard screen. Every student is very into the reading because it is a book that is not part of the curriculum they are being forced to read and write about. Whenever I choose a book to read from my read aloud section, they always want to describe character traits, settings, the problem/solution of the story and retell the story in order. This is very hard to get them to do with just any books. By getting more read aloud books, students will be able to let their imaginations go wild by telling what may happen next or what they would do if they were in the characters shoes.
