My students come from very diverse backgrounds; racially, socio-economically, personality, and so much more. My students come to school excited and wanting to learn. They love and appreciate the opportunities available at our school that they wouldn't experience anywhere else.
The entire population of this town loves and values individuals and wants to see the students grow and accentuate the future.
I can't imagine a better town, community, or school to receive this fully funded project to help us grow.
My Project
I often read for books when I need to help my students develop their personalities and social skills. I feel that books open up conversations and allow for connections. However, I struggle with building this library collection.
Funding for this project would allow me to have a repertoire of books to reach for when needing to facilitate a character education lesson for my students.
These skills are huge for students to learn as they grow up and strong literature can be pivotal in deep understanding of social skills and emotional maturity. Especially in a title 1 school, I aim to teach my students these skills as much as possible.
