My Project
Our third graders love to read, so we need books! Please help us stock our classroom library with new and exciting stories.
Our classroom library is a comfortable place that my students enjoy.
They enjoy browsing books every morning, reading on the couch throughout the day, and taking their books home to share with their families. They also love talking about their books and sharing stories with one another when they're done.
I'm requesting books that are differentiated for our students' individual needs and interests, because many of our students come from disadvantaged backgrounds (low income, English Language Learners). Many of the books also align with our curriculum and unit studies that we learn throughout the year. These align well with STEM and Next Generation Science Standards, as well as our Hawaii Core Standards for Social Studies. Some of our favorite units involve engineering and designing Rube Goldberg machines and learning about immigration in the past and present.
