This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The early grades are so important in fostering good reading skills for developing students. Keeping up with current research and best practices our campus is following the principles of the science of reading. To do this our students need decodable books to help give them a solid foundation in reading skills.
I would like these books to create a reading resource closet for second grade students.
Students will be able to check out books to practice and apply skills taught in class. Teaching using a systematic phonics approach has been proven crucial for early reading development. These books will help foster that. This donation will reach all second grade students now and for years to come.
