My Students

This is a general education third-grade classroom with students who can also potentially be on an individualized educational plan. Three of my students are currently on those plans, however, that can change at any time, as our school serves a large population of students with special needs. There is also much diversity in our classrooms, with students from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. We are a Leader-In-Me school, and try to incorporate those important values each day! My Project

My class loves to read and explore! These wonderful books are some of my students' favorites, and we would love to add them to our classroom library! Students need to read regularly in order to become proficient in language arts. While reading books for enjoyment, students improve their vocabulary, spelling and grammar skills. They are able to go on adventures, learn about faraway places, people, and experiences, all while the stories help their imagination grow! Biographical stories teach about great role models, and show people from many different backgrounds or facing different challenges. My students will greatly benefit from seeing and reading about people who are just like them, represented in pictures and literature, which will hopefully motivate young readers' hopes and ambitions!
