My Students
My students are amazing and are ready to start a successful school year. My talented students are doing their best to overcome both their academic and/or social-emotional challenges. The students at my high school come from diverse backgrounds, many represent low socioeconomic statuses, and reside in an urban area. When they are at the point where they doubt that they can not overcome a challenge or find a solution to a problem, it is then that I remind them that they are not alone and we are here for them.
My Project
High school is a time of exploration and self-discovery. All of my students want to know that someone believes in them. Whether they are athletic, creative, confident, or awkward, shy, and quiet all of my students deserve to know that they have unlimited potential. Many of my students have social-emotional needs, but all of them have the potential for greatness.
This selection of valuable social-emotional books will provide my students with essential information on the importance of having self-esteem, problem-solving skills, resilience, life skills, and mindfulness.
Reading exposes you to a world of imagination, showing you nothing is impossible in this world. I would like to add these social-emotional books to our classroom library so that my students can check them out and most importantly learn from them. Social-emotional learning provides students with valuable knowledge that will serve them for a lifetime.
