My Students

I am blessed to teach an incredibly diverse group of young learners! My school is a Title I school made up of approximately 40% refugees from over 19 different countries.

My mix of 4th graders come from all over; Thailand, Burma, Malaysia, The Congo, Mexico, Nigeria and more!

I am so honored to be able to work with these diverse group of kiddos, many who are learning English. Despite overcoming many adversities, they amaze me everyday with their eagerness to learn, great attitudes and willingness to take on challenges when given the proper tools to succeed.

My Project

Many of my 4th grade students are English language learners or struggling readers.

These magazines from Scholastic and Time for Kids will give them the opportunity to practice their reading and help develop their English language skills, while being fun and engaging at the same time!

Scholastic and Time for Kids have such great content and I know my students will not be able to put these magazines down! Students will be able to use these reading materials during class time and during their free time. I have so many students that LOVE to read about history and science that these reading materials will be well used in my classroom!
