My Students

My students are eager to learn! They are able to find something exciting about anything we do. The students at my school come from diverse backgrounds and represent many socio-economic statuses. Some face challenges that others do not because of this.

At school, we set high expectations for all students and work together to support all students so they can each achieve these expectations regardless of their background.

Our school is a National School of Character where we utilize the Nurtured Heart Approach to build the inner wealth of students. The transformation in students is inspiring!

My Project

These books will be put to use daily in our classroom, whether it is through teacher read-alouds or through independent reading.

Students will be able to be exposed to math concepts, character development, and other subjects through the variety of titles in this project.

Students are able to gain experiences through books when they may not necessarily have the opportunity to do so in real life. Through these texts, students will be able to make connections, predictions, and build their schema. By listening to them as read-alouds, students will have the opportunity to hear what fluent reading sounds like and have a model to work towards in their own reading.
