My students need reading literature in order to fully emerge themselves in our reading curriculum! These books will be used to help students practice reading and comprehension.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing leaders. They are growing and learning in a school district in Buckeye, Arizona. They are active, hands-on, multi-sensory students. They are engineers, talkers, scientists, thinkers, goal setters, and hard workers. But most importantly, they are our future. At my school we believe that "Everyone learns every day" and I want to make sure that I give them the ability to truly demonstrate and reach their full potential no matter what.
They are proactive individuals.
They take responsibility for their learning and ask for things that they need to be successful. They like to move; they love to read, collaborate with each other, and be comfortable when they work.
From the first day of school and each day after, I focus on helping them realizing that they are amazing individuals and can accomplish anything they dream of. I focus on their growth and building them up. I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence. I want to provide my students with a classroom where they can be creative and feel empowered.
My Project
These books will open a whole new world to my students. In a district that utilizes Beyond Textbooks we do not have any textbooks to use. It is difficult to find materials and specific books in order to teach skills.
These resources will help in so many ways!
Through a program that my teammate and I have purchased, we are able to fully provide all reading skills needed for them to be successful. We will be able to cover vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency practice. We will be able to expose our students to non fiction and fiction texts. However, we are in need of the weekly books that go along each lesson. The books that are listed are all of the ones needed for these lessons.
