Read All About It - Books Needed for Leveled Library!
My students need books that will get them interested in reading, baskets to organize materials for easy access, and an activities box to keep them engaged!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"A book is a gift you can open again and again." —Garrison Keillor
Our school is a Title 1 school in a high poverty district.
My inclusion classroom this upcoming school year consists of 28 students with a wide range of reading levels. The resources available to the students inside and outside of the classroom are limited and I want to be sure that they have books and materials that will keep them interested in reading and engaged!
My Project
Second grade is an extremely important year for literacy development. The training wheels come off, and students make the transition from learning to read to reading to learn. The materials I am requesting are specifically meant to maximize exposure to literacy and create independent readers during our book clubs. Everyday, for 60 minutes, I work with small groups of children on guided reading, while the rest of the children work independently or in small groups at reading centers.
Having the ability to supply my students with books that they are interested in will assist me in building their love of reading.
The colored baskets will help me organize the materials and color code them for students to have easy access to them while the activities box will help me continue to engage them throughout the day!
