Read Across Wentworth Day

My Students

My students have a desire to learn. They come to school eager for knowledge and look to me, as their teacher, to provide it.

Most of my students come from low income or single-parent families.

Many of my students do not have the basic tools and supplies they need for a typical school day. My students are very energetic and want to learn.

Our school is in a constant battle to get our students the basic necessities they need to become successful scholars.

My Project

My students love to read and we want to celebrate Read Across America Day which is celebrated every year on Dr. Seuss' birthday! We are asking for resources for our classroom and resources we can share with the many other students from our school who also share our love of reading. Our classroom decided to have our own reading party in which we are calling 'Read Across Wentworth Day'. The materials we are asking for include notebooks, bookmarks, erasers and pencils for students to use either in school or remotely to foster their love of reading.
