I have been studying hard to learn as much as I can about dyslexia over the course of my career. My training has been wonderful, and working with students who struggle with reading difficulties, including dyslexia is my absolute passion. I am requesting this Jerry L. Johns, Reading Assessment book to be sent to me so that I can read up about new forms of assessment, quickly assess the students in our school, and comb through the data to learn more about our students and their needs, and catch those that need help.
Far too many children fall between the cracks in far too many schools, and I want to learn everything I can, to do my very best to make sure that this doesn't happen at our school.
This book is full of very important informal screening assessments for grades kindergarten through twelve, early literacy assessments, and progress monitoring tools. This will be a very helpful resource for me to learn from and to have. My biggest form of assessment was just removed from my program, due to time constraints and budget limitations. I need this resource so that I can learn new ways to screen students and get the info that I need to do my job well. The students will also benefit because they will get the reading help that they need. Thank you so much for any help that you can give. This is very important to me.
