The current global pandemic has created a very hard transition for my students in Urban education. Many do not have access to their own technology or even access to the internet, so reaching them has been challenging.
My students come from many different cultures and many are English Language students.
To have the ability to safely take them materials to help them continue in their learning and enrichment during these difficult times means everything.
My Project
These materials will help to inspire my students, remind them they are thought of and loved, and help to build the divide they face in comparison to remote education their suburban peers have access to.
The ability to deliver a personalized tote filled with books, supplies, and snacks will remind my students that they matter!
I hope to build their confidence and inspire them to continue learning, reading, and growing during this time of such uncertainty. Not being able to say goodbye has been the hardest part, but this grant will allow me to do just that.
