Reaching Our Goals Through Reading

My Students

Throughout the years I have been teaching, I have had amazing groups of students come through my classroom doors. Living on an island, our access to reading books and stores are limited and it's hard to get students to find books they are interested in. It is also difficult for some students to afford new books, and some don't have access to the public library. Each year, I have groups of students who are determined to do their best and strive to do their best. They challenge themselves and just need access to new, popular and interesting books.

With the completion of this project, students will have access to picture books that teach important lessons, classic stories told through graphic novel, book series and new chapter books.

My Project

Allowing students access to various types of books will help build and peak their interest in reading. I teach 4th grade and a good amount of students come into this grade not having read a chapter book. I would love to have a classroom library full of books that are new and interesting to my students.

With access to different types of reading material, I believe that many students will find a joy in reading.

This will give them access to picture books that teach important lessons, graphic novels, chapter books and book series. Please help me influence my students to become better readers.

I have included books that students have specifically asked for, as well as classics I remember reading as a kid.
