Teacher Professional Development: I need an iPad Air, case, and collection of math, writing, and reading lesson planning books to help create fresh teaching experiences for my class. <profdevpilot>
The past few years have brought tremendous change to our classrooms resulting in drastically changing expectations of student work and mastery. My goal is to move my students forward to reach these new goals while at the same time keeping the integrity of fun in first grade.
I have been a first and second grade teacher for 14 years.
I love collaborating with my current colleagues, but look forward to the opportunity to explore new ideas and ways of teaching. During my teaching career, I have been a supervising teacher to 5 student teachers. Through these experiences, I have helped each of them grow and expand their teaching philosophies. My hope is, though this grant, I am able to expand my teaching horizons.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad Air and case to navigate YouTube as a form of collaboration with teaching colleagues across the Internet. I will be able to compare different teaching strategies with my current plans in order to improve myself as a teacher.
The books I requested will help give me a new ideas in teaching math. The writing book has examples of teaching different writing styles in correlation to our common core standards. The reading series will provide me with current strategies to strengthen beginning reader skills.
I hope that through the use of this grant and supplies provided, I can refresh my current teaching abilities and continue to evolve and grow to meet the needs of my students.
The donation of the iPad Air, case, and books will not only benefit my current class, but many classes yet to come.
I will be able to use the iPad to explore different teaching styles and lessons on YouTube. The lesson books will provide a platform for me to begin exploring a variety of teaching strategies. Having access to a myriad of teaching suggestions will strengthen my own teaching abilities and provide me with new ideas through collaboration with other teachers.
