My Students
Most of my students are Hispanic and many are English Language Learners. We also have a small population of African-American and Native American students. 100% of the students receive free lunch and breakfast.
My students are a community of learners that help each other, learn from each other and grow together.
These students are inquisitive, thoughtful and humble. They are eager to come to school and enjoy learning from their teachers and their peers.
The students enjoy all the non-traditional activities included in my PE program. Despite any challenges they may face, my students are eager to learn and try new things.
My Project
This project will help support our school in creating an after-school soccer program. We have a large beautiful grass field that is perfect to play soccer on. However, what we are missing are soccer goals.
With full-size soccer goals, we will be able to support the creation of an intramural league within our school.
A school league would give our students the opportunity to play on an organized team without the large fees of club sports. Our school has a basketball team that regularly has 75-100 students try out. I know many more would show up for soccer. This project would also allow us to play home games if we are able to join a school league in the spring.
