My students need a set of reading skills activity centers, a set of phonics word buildng boards, some dry erase answer paddles and audio books to encourage reading and help with listening and comprehension skills.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have group of 18 very bright, eager 6 year old students, ready to learn. The amaze me daily with things they learn/know. I teach at a Title 1 school, where many of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey. Many of the families at our school are low-income families who are making the best of what they have.
It is my duty as a teacher to make learning exciting and fun.
In my classroom we are a family. We help and support each other. I work hard to keep my students engaged with learning, and making it fun. It is my goal to help them learn to love reading.
My Project
I am asking for a variety of reading resource materials including a set of Eric Carle books on CD, a complete set of teaching reading skills activity centers, a set of phonics magnetic word building boards, a reading comprehension learning center, an English language development writing center, some dry erase boards and markers. The read along books will allow my students to build reading fluency and comprehension skills. They will also expose students to different literary genres.
The requested wipe and write boards will be very useful on Paperless Wednesdays!
Our school has become Eco-friendly and adopted to go Paperless once a week, so school wide, students will engage in hands on activities. We will be able to practice spelling words, math facts, parts of speech, etc. as a class. The other resources will be used in centers and as a reinforcement of the lesson that was taught. These requested resources will help take learning to the next level.
