My Project

My goal is to get a class set of whiteboards so my students can have access to them at all times. A whiteboard is a re-‘markable’ place for students to record their thinking. There is truly something special about a dry erase marker and board for students, they love them. It is believed that using a whiteboard while learning engages both the mind and body which results in positive outcomes.

Erase, change, and redo!!!

My students will use their whiteboards for every subject in our third grade classroom. In math they will solve problems. In English Language Arts they will record text features and practice cursive. In Science we will record data during experiments. Students will draw images of history to compare communities from then and now! Last but not least students will use their whiteboards to play games and simply draw beautiful pictures during brain breaks.

My students are wonderful children who have so many ideas just waiting to burst out of their fabulous minds. I have a group of diverse learners with varied needs and the whiteboards and markers are helpful tools. My hope is to have a whiteboard for each of student to keep at their desk and use as they please. I want to promote active listening and note-taking to better equip them in older grades. We hope you see the importance of a class set of whiteboards and choose to donate to our project.
