My students need a variety of high interest chapter books. My classroom also needs small speakers for our language arts and math lessons on the computer.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Flores's classroom raised $390

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Give books a fighting chance! Kids have so many options in entertainment these days. With high interest chapter books, help kids choose reading over TV and video games!
I serve 23 amazing third grade students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Our school is a small neighborhood public school that continually strives to educate its students the best they can with the limited tools we are provided.
My students love to learn and learn best when they are actively engaged. They are hard working, motivated learners who enjoy reading and are setting records for themselves by surpassing their reading goals this year.
My Project
Some of my students think that chapter books are long and boring. I would love to introduce them to mountains of chapter books with characters that make them laugh, smile, and allow them to experience that special moment where they can relate to the story or character(s). I have chosen a variety of different leveled chapter books that my students have shown interest in when looking through catalogs.
Some of these books are also ones that I enjoyed as a child and I look forward to hearing how much my students are enjoying them today.
In addition to the chapter books for my students, a small set of speakers to attach to my computer would be an additional asset to my classroom. Many of the titles I am asking for here I already have on cds for the students to listen to. Unfortunately, it is very difficult for students to hear through the computer speakers. This funded project will perpetuate a love of reading for my students!
Encouraging students to read chapter books early will help them in middle school and high school.
Instead of struggling through unfamiliar territory, our kids will be used to the reading challenge!
Reading is fundamental! The more you read, the more you know; the more you know, the smarter you'll grow! Please help my students continue reading high quality children's literature by making this project become fulfilled. Thank you in advance for your support!
