My students need four sets of leveled books ranging from first to third grade levels.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Anna Kim's classroom raised $280

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
“There are many little ways to enlarge your child's world. Love of books is the best of all,” said Jacqueline Kennedy.
My students live in a poverty stricken area in California.
Our school provides 100% free lunch to all children. Many students lack parental care and guidance, so more often than not, school is their safe haven.
Regardless of their home lives, my students come to school everyday with a smile on their face and a positive outlook on learning. They are as bright and motivated as can be. They come to school eager to learn and have dreams of going to college.
My Project
Due to cuts in educational funding, our school had to lay off the librarian. My students do not get the chance to go to the library to pick out books anymore. With our classroom being their only source of books, they are quickly running out of choices. They need, and deserve, to have great books at their fingertips right in the classroom!
I want our classroom library to be a favorite reading nook but, without books, it will just be a bleak and empty corner. The four sets of leveled readers will allow students to read a variety of books during silent reading time, check them out to read after school and on weekends, and use them for reading circles for our Language Arts rotations.
With these books, I know my students will dive into these pages with all the joy and delight of a child receiving a magical gift. That's what books are- a magical portal to places and adventures you can only see in your imagination! I believe inspiring a lifelong love of reading is the best gift I can give my students, and BOOKS are the best gift YOU can give them!
I want to offer a classroom where students spend so many hours in, to be a warm and welcoming oasis from the hectic noises of our city streets.
These books will go a long way to create a fun, engaging, and educational environment!
