My Project

My pre-k students are such amazing little learners! One of their favorite centers they choose to play in every single day is the block center. They absolutely love building, stacking, and creating all kinds of structures that their minds lead them to build.

I recently put some leftover packaging materials that consisted of corner cardboard pieces in the block center and taught them about making ramps.

Ever since they have been amazed at all of the things they can roll down the ramps. Unfortunately, the carboard "ramps" are falling apart. I have thoroughly searched for items that would help my students with their love for building and engineering and discovered an amazing ramp and ball set and a stand-up magnetic design center along with other matching sets, that students will be able to manipulate and add items to in order to create their own cause and effect activities while playing with these new items in the block center.

With your help, this project can provide high quality items that will last for years instead of weeks. My hopes are that my students can use these new materials to strengthen their cognitive skills, as well as fine motor skills, by exploring different ways to build and construct with these items.
