My Students
My students are outgoing and extremely creative! They have a strong interest in STEM. They come from a variety of backgrounds including several military families front the neighboring base and one-third of our school's students come from low income households. My district was hit hard by Hurricane Florence. We lost 5 weeks of instruction due to our community receiving so much damage. Our district reported over 700 students and over 65 staff displaced due to the storm. My school is still under repair.

My Project
Our school has a Science Olympiad team that competes at a county competition in the spring. Our students are challenged to build a ramp and a K'NEX car that can stop itself at a certain distance. Our county was hit very hard from Hurricane Florence this year and funding are extremely low due to all the repairs required to school buildings. In order for our students to compete in the Ramp and Roll event, they need the K'NEX Education Maker's Kit Wheels and safety googles.
