Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In today's educational landscape, students from low-income backgrounds, especially those in alternative settings, face unique challenges. As a high school teacher in a low-income area, I've launched the "Ramen to the Rescue" project on DonorsChoose. This project aims to combat teen hunger, significantly impacting my students' learning experiences.

Hunger and learning are closely intertwined.

Students who are not hungry can concentrate, engage, and participate more effectively in their studies. This simple yet vital change can profoundly impact their academic achievements. By providing comforting Ramen Noodles, we aim to ensure that our students have access to a nutritious meal at school and when they return home. This will curb their hunger and provide the essential energy and sustenance required to optimize their learning potential.

The goals for this project are multi-faceted. We aim to address teen hunger within our student population during school hours and at home. By offering readily accessible and satisfying food options, we create a conducive learning environment, helping students concentrate on their lessons, engage in classroom discussions, and complete assignments with increased focus and determination. By addressing their basic needs, we hope to inspire them to set and achieve higher academic goals, fostering a sense of self-worth and accomplishment.

In conclusion, "Ramen to the Rescue" is not just about providing a meal; it's about nourishing the hopes and dreams of these extraordinary teens. By addressing the issue of hunger and ensuring empty stomachs do not hold them back, we aspire to see our students thrive academically and reach their full potential. Our students are indeed unique, and it's our privilege to support them in their educational journey at school and home.
