Ralph Chandler's Got Talent!

My students need a solid karaoke system for use in the library. We have a lot of great programming in the library, and one of the activities/rewards that students most requested last year was karaoke.

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds, whether it entails race, socio-economic circumstances, rural, urban, gender, interests, dreams, or goals. They are completely enthusiastic about real-world practice with applied sciences.

Our school sits in the middle of a very rural area, but is also bordered by a vibrant, cosmopolitan, regional hub.

The students in my school are motivated, eager, energetic, and represent the very best of middle school potential.

Skilled jobs, higher education, and global connections are passions of our school population and their families. This is their place to follow their hearts and minds!

My Project

A karaoke system is one of the most popular ways to draw students together and is a wonderful way to incentivize reading programs. After reading, "No More Reading for Junk," I realized that having fun activities in the library that help draw and create a community of readers is better than handing out ice cream from the cafeteria or pizza coupons.

I want to create a sense of community in the library, and music is something that uplifts students more than anything else.

Every quarter, I have planned a community event to bring together those who have participated in our reading programs such as the SC Junior Book Award and more. I want the library to be a hub of expression, fun, confidence, poise, and connection. A karaoke system can help achieve all of that.
