Raising the Bar for High Potential At-Risk Students

My students need dry erase tables to engage them and promote diverse learning in a small group setting.

My Students

My students are part of a pilot program that works with students with high test scores and are low achieving. This program gives the children extra attention and resources to help them become successful in the classroom.

Our teachers work to remove barriers that may keep these children from reaching their full potential.

My students have responded greatly to the extra attention and challenging curriculum. My teachers and students frequently use a small room in the library for group work. They love working in the library.

My Project

My students have been identified as having high academic potential, but are consistently low performing in the classroom. These students have many obstacles that have kept them from reaching their potential, such as poverty, homelessness, and lack of a support network.

Using these interactive tables during small group lessons will promote teamwork, creative learning, idea sharing, and make learning fun.

Keeping my students engaged and working will help address the needs of these diverse learners. This should also modify and enhance behavior in a positive fashion.

Using a creative approach to small group learning I hope to engage my students in their classwork, so that they can reach the potential that I know they have.
