Raising Remarkable Readers

Help me give my students updated class sets of books for them to read and engage in and reflect the culture of our class.

My Project

These class sets of books will make a huge difference in my classroom. First, the books are new types of books and updated genres compared to the same books we have read year after year. Second, these books give my students an opportunity to read books with characters that reflect our classroom makeup. It is important for our class to have books that reflect everyone and this allows me to build a library for my students a little at a time.

My goal for this project is to build a class set of books to read aloud and study in class that reflect the demographics of my students.

By providing books with such a variety, we can engage them in reading and build better and stronger readers for the future.

My students are some of the most special students in the area. They work hard despite many having learning disabilities. Those who are stronger learners are more than happy to help those who struggle which makes this group of students some of the most giving and understanding students. They deserve and need books that reflect themselves.
