This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Scholastic Scope provides my students with texts about real-life teens and events that they can personally connect with. These materials increase the desire to read within my classroom ten fold!

While our students need to be well read in the classics, they also need to be tapped in to current events and the world around them.

Scholastic Scope is the perfect solution to providing both.

On a nation wide survey of youth, only 49% of students self reported that they enjoy reading outside of school. As a teacher, I know that I can help increase that number by providing students with engaging texts and supporting their desire to read!
