My students need books, such as Sight Word Tales and Word Family Tales to help promote literacy and early literacy skills, and the Scholastic book sets will enable students to learn in a fun way!

My Students

By the end of the school year, I want all of my students to have a love of reading! I want them to feel equipped to move on to first grade with basic reading skills under their belts! I want them to have confidence in their individual abilities to read!

My students love when I read aloud to them!

They are beginning to read, and many are at different levels of reading. Some of my students are reading well, others need to continue practicing sight words, and a few are still working on letter sounds. Despite their individual levels, I want all of them to feel successful! They are all working so hard! I teach in a charter school that encourages students to think deeper! We strive to create an enriched learning environment, differentiating instruction to allow all students to feel challenged yet successful! All 23 of my kindergarten students enjoy reading their books regardless of the level they may be reading.

My Project

The Scholastic book sets that I have ordered will allow me to focus on literary skills that reach each of my students exactly where they are in reading. The Alpha Tales will help my students who are still developing letter recognition and letter sound know she. The sight word books and word family books will be beneficial in the same way! The Word Family pocket chart will provide hands on practice during Literacy Centers. In addition, as my students develop as authors, their writing skills will improve! I am so excited to get these resources, because I believe all of my students will benefit from them. They will be so excited! I am so proud of the love of reading they have acquired and the desire to learn to read that each possess!!

By helping with this project, you will be planting seeds in the lives of my students for years to come!

I believe that when children learn to love to read, it will enable them to reach their goals and dreams! Reading is so foundational, and by supporting my classroom, you will be supporting the future of many, many little lives!
