Raising Proficient Readers

Help me give my students the opportunity to become proficient readers. This is my 2nd year teaching Reading, after being a Science teacher for 15+ years. Approximately 75% of my students are reading below grade level.

My Project

The items I am requesting will be used for differentiated instruction in Reading/ English Langauage Arts. I will use these materials during small group instruction. I have a variety of student needs to address: English Language Learners, and students who are reading 2-4 grades below level.

It is my hope to provide these students with as much scaffolding as possible in order to help bridge the gap in their reading scores.

Please help me to provide my students with the individualized instruction that they need in order to help them become proficient readers.
