Imagine walking into your new 4th grade classroom in September to see the sight of a 55 gallon fish tank! You discover that you, a kid, will be helping to raise trout eggs until they hatch into fingerling trout.

My students are curious, caring and artist scholars. We love science - even when studying the history of our country, we are looking for scientific connections. Every year we study New York City history and the Hudson River by generating questions and following our natural curiosities, while explaining our knowledge and skills as learners.
My Project
The Trout-in-the-Classroom kit will provide all of the necessary resources to equip our 55 galloon fish tank with essentials needed to hatch and grow baby trout eggs. Trout eggs and fingerling trout can be very susceptible to temperature, salinity and pH levels. The kit will provide everything the kids will need to take care of their growing trout so that they can grow them large enough to release them into the Hudson River in the spring. The kit will last for 6 years!
Curiosity and baby animals are the perfect recipe for generating a love of learning, empathy, motivation, responsibility and a sense of self-worth.
Kids will realize that even in 4th grade you too can make a difference. Your investment will help to grow the next generation of community citizens!
