My Project
COVID-19 impacted learning for students because it took away the social and physical connections students had while going to school in person. They were no longer able to work with friends to solve problems with creative solutions. It also caused issues with food insecurity.
By getting students out in our school garden, they will be able to work with their classmates and learn more about growing their own food.
The garden allows children to complete hands-on activities that focus on real-world situations. They will learn how to properly care for the plants and grow their own food, which they can use at home also. The garden is also a space where we can learn about making healthy food choices. The raised garden beds that I would like to purchase for our school garden will replace old ones that are falling apart and allow more space for students to explore in the garden.
