Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The goal of our district is for every student to read and comprehend increasingly complex text in all content areas including music.
Learning rhythm through drumming will help students read and comprehend increasingly difficult text.
It will also provide students with an avenue to release physical and mental stress and anxiety through improvisation.
We are requesting one drum to help us on the journey to rhythmic literacy.
Due to limited resources this opportunity through DonorsChoose would provide students and families the ability to experience first hand the effect drumming has on the student learning.
