At my school our students are “Sailing to Success!"
We want the moments that matter most to be those in which our students learn not only the curriculum, but life lessons that will carry them through their teenage years and into adulthood.
This is not always easy in a lower income neighborhood where the stress of the outside world can permeate into the classroom environment, where 100% of students receive free lunch and where Title I resources are cut due to dwindling budgets. But poverty and hardship are not obstacles that my students let get in their way. They come to school each day with an insatiable thirst for knowledge and ready to be the best versions of themselves.
Each and every day we strive to empower our students to tackle the challenges of the 21st century. With donors like YOU we can help these students transition to the future leaders of tomorrow.
Remember rainy days in school...shucks no recess because of the weather. Here, in South Carolina, we are entering the rainy season which means many days recess will be indoors. Remember how boring that was as a kid? My students need engaging, in depth games to keep them occupied while stuck indoors.
With board games, students can improve their academic skills by reading, employing critical thinking skills, and having fun all at the same time!
No longer will indoor recess be a boring activity. Instead, students will have the chance to stimulate their brain and compete against their classmates.
Please consider donating to my classroom to keep these kids busy during indoor recess!
