Raindrops Keep Falling on my Window! A STEAM Lesson

Help me give my students art supplies so they can create a canvas of realistic raindrops for our water cycle science theme.

My Project

My students love science and art so I have created this lesson to combine their two favorite subjects. This STEAM lesson combines science, art, and technology as students learn about the water cycle using online research tools and videos. They will view a video on how to draw realistic raindrops. Then, on a rainy day, we will stop what we are doing, and go to the window and see how rain looks when falling onto glass, and we will use our iPads to take photos of the falling rain.

Students will use photos and observations to create their own artistic interpretation of how raindrops look sliding down a window; they will each receive a canvas and paint supplies to paint a realistic picture of rain falling on glass.

I know my students will be thrilled and highly motivated to learn about the water cycle in this special way. This will be the first time my students will be painting on a canvas.
