My Project
We have 2 different 3D printers, a Creality Ender 3 Pro and a Bambu P1S for those who are curious, and have spent A LOT of time learning how to use it and how to fix them. I have been learning the various programs to create, code, and color my own files. I use them with the TAG (Talented and Gifted) students at my school.
These are the students who are high achievers and sometimes due to their ability to do grade-level work don't get as much time in small groups because they aren't behind academically.
Concepts and ideas come very easily for TAG students, especially in academics. This is something that will be hard, this is something they will fail at and have to persevere through. But none of this personal growth and learning can happen if I don't have the filament to print with. I have bought enough filament to fiddle around with it this summer but there is no way I have enough to sustain 60 kids through challenging projects over the school year.
This is something that none of my students would have access to without this project. The closest any of them have come is our 3D printing pens that we started using last year but that is very flimsy filament and doesn't take computer coding or engineering to this level.
