My Project

Imagine you have been looking forward to recess all day long, when all of a sudden it begins to rain cats and dogs! This is a feeling all too common with my students when they go to the doorway of our classroom, football under arm, and instantly deflate because it is raining outside. In the climate where I teach, rainy days are quite frequent in the winter time. There were a couple weeks this last winter where we had to stay inside for recess every day! The kids were losing their minds with boredom, and I was losing my mind trying to keep them entertained!

Here is where amazing donors come in: I am in need of some fun alternatives for rainy days when recess has to be indoors.

I want to keep screen time to a minimum and rather give them the opportunity to play some simple card and board games with their peers. Not only will this give students a much needed break from screen-time, but the games will allow students to collaborate with their peers and work on fundamental social skills.
