Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school is considered a Title I school. Many of the children live in low-income housing and hotels, and some are in shelters. For some, English is their second language and many have experienced traumatic experiences that most of us can hardly comprehend. Every student at our school qualifies for free breakfast and free lunch.

We have a large population of students who walk from home to school and from school to home in the afternoons.

When it rains or the weather is not great, most students do not have gear to protect themselves and their backpacks. These would be given to students when it rains for them to get home safely and dry.
