This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are part of a county wide Green and Healthy school program that is nonprofit. Students learn to live healthy, garden, participate in STEM activities, volunteer to clean litter, collect school recycling, reduce cafeteria food waste, and more. The rain barrel will help students learn and experience water conservation. Additionally, this project will help our school gain points in our Green and Healthy Schools evaluation, which helps us to gain better access to local resources. We will collect the water as it runs off the green house’s roof, and the water will then be used to grow food that students take home to share with their family and community.
