My Project
I'm reaching out to you as the dedicated Garden Educator at WCES. There, I maintain a beautiful school garden full of fresh produce, and I teach classes in garden-based science and nutrition-based cooking to Pre-K through 5th graders, as well as help facilitate our cafeteria-to-compost program, that turns lunchtime food waste into rich soil. Your support will help further these missions.
We're running a campaign to get essential resources like compost buckets, a rain barrel, plastic knives, and watering cans for the kids.
These practical elements will help students actively participate in creating nutrient-rich soil through composting, as well as understand responsible resource management by collecting rainwater. Plastic knives play a crucial role in our cooking classes, where students learn about healthy eating habits and the journey of food from the garden to the table. Meanwhile, the watering cans provide a tangible connection to the nurturing side of gardening, fostering a love for the natural world.
Your support for our campaign will directly contribute to creating a practical and engaging learning environment at WCES. By providing these resources, you'll help our students gain hands-on experience in gardening, composting, and sustainable practices. Your contribution isn't just an investment in tools; it's an investment in the education and growth of these young minds, preparing them for a future where they value sustainability and community responsibility. Thank you for considering and supporting our cause.
