Our elementary is a diverse campus that strives to expose all students to different walks of life and cultural experiences. Our school mission is to create lifelong learners by providing stimulating learning experiences that promote inquiry. Many of our students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds and find our school to be a safe welcoming environment.
Each student has their own voice and outlook on education.
Providing them an outlet for creativity and expansion of knowledge is key to expanding their cultural awareness.
This year, fourth grade will be going on a writing adventure by taking a scenic train ride from Dallas to Fort Worth. Students will be given a list of writing prompts to choose from for the ride. Once they have picked their prompt, students will spend majority of their journey responding to the prompt. Each student will need a clipboard to write on while on the train. They will also use them to store their paper and pencils when they are not in use. Through the use of public transportation, students will gain a new learning experience that provides an uninterrupted working environment.
This out of classroom excursion will inspire our students and further their love of writing while exposing them to the beauty of the world around us.
This trip is something these students will always remember. Please be a part of setting this wonderful learning experience into motion.
